Auto-Mag® D-1 Particles are superparamagnetic non-aggregate iron oxide microspheres made with hydrolysis of orthosilicates in the presence of magnetite and can easily be separated with conventional permanent magnets. Auto-Mag® D-1 Particles are extremely stable in organic solvents, aqueous buffers, and at high temperatures. We have optimized silica coating and large surface area, providing efficient kinetics, high sensitivity, and high selectivity in isolation of nucleic acid from biological samples in both manual and automated applications. Since having a hydrophilic surface with terminal Si-OH-bonds, Auto-Mag® D-1 particles also be either functionalized with active groups such as carboxyl, amine and NHS, or conjugated with a variety of biological ligands and fluorophores for a very wide variety of biological applications.
