Auto-Mag® Blood & Tissue DNA Isolation Kit employs magnetic bead-based workflows to efficiently purify high-quality genomic DNA from various sources, including fresh or frozen whole blood, buffy coat, saliva, fresh or frozen mammalian tissues, and cell lines. Using a straightforward 4-step procedure—Lyse, Bind, Wash, Elute—the kit offers flexibility for both manual and automated processing with equivalent performance. With the ability to process up to 96 tissue samples in under an hour, the kit provides purified genomic DNA ready for immediate use in molecular biology applications, such as PCR, restriction digestion, cloning, DNA sequencing, and Southern blot analysis.

Manual Workflow for Blood DNA isolation

1. Confirm the sample volume.
2. Add Proteinase K to lysis the cells.
3. Add Beads to bind DNA
4. Separate beads from contaminants.
5. Wash magnetic beads to remove contaminants.
6. Elute DNA from magnetic beads

Comparison of DNA Isolated from Whole Blood

Figure 1. Comparison of DNA Isolated from Whole Blood. gDNA was isolated from 50, 100 and 200 µL of whole blood using Auto-Mag® Blood & Tissue DNA Isolation Kit and a competitor’s M kit. Following isolation, 10 µL from each 100 µL elution was loaded on 1.2 % agarose gel, with the results indicating that the DNA isolation was consistent between the samples .  In terms of determined recovery, Auto-Mag® Blood & Tissue DNA Isolation  Kit shows a higher recovery than the competitor’s kit.
