Auto-Mag® Dried Blood Spot DNA Isolation Kit is designed for efficient purification of high-quality genomic DNA from dried blood spot (DBS) samples. Using advanced lysis chemistry and Auto-Mag® magnetic bead technology, the kit delivers consistent and reliable DNA isolation. The purified DNA is suitable for a wide range of downstream applications, including real-time PCR, Southern blotting, microarray analysis, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Auto-Mag® Dried Blood Spot DNA Isolation Kit supports both manual and automated workflows. It is fully compatible with platforms such as the KingFisher™ series, the IsoPure automated purification system, and most magnetic rod–based liquid handling systems. For added flexibility, the kit also includes an alternative centrifugation-based protocol using 1.5 mL tubes when magnetic separation equipment is unavailable, without compromising performance.
Manual Workflow for Dried Blood Spot DNA isolation

- Cut 3-6 pieces from a dried blood spot and place them in a Nuclease-free 1.5-2.0ml tube
- Add Proteinase K & lysis buffer to lysis the cells.
- Add Beads to bind DNA
- Separate beads from contaminants.
- Wash magnetic beads to remove contaminants.
- Elute DNA from magnetic beads.
